Happy Full Moon in Gemini a time for Reflection and Release
As I sat down to journal this morning, on the day of the full moon in Gemini, I found myself reflecting deeply on the concept of release. This full moon is not just any full moon; it is the last one of 2024—a powerful moment to let go of what no longer serves us and create space for a fresh beginning as we approach the new year.
Last night, I spent a beautiful evening with close girlfriends. We laughed, we shared stories, and as often happens during these moments, we delved into a conversation about aging and self-image. This morning, as I reflected on that discussion, I realized how judgment—of others and, more importantly, of myself—crept into the space. It struck me how easy it is to fall into the habit of judging, especially when it comes to how we look or how we perceive others’ lives.
Judgment often leads to comparison, and comparison is a trap that almost always leaves us feeling less than. This morning, as I reflected I was guided to - release ego-driven thoughts. Judgment and comparison stem from the ego. While they might disguise themselves as a way to boost our self-esteem, they actually anchor us to lower vibrational energy, pulling us further away from self-love and acceptance.
Self-Judgment: The Opposite of Self-Love
Self-judgment has been one of my greatest struggles, and I know I’m not alone in this. For so many of us—particularly women—self-love feels elusive. From a young age, we are conditioned to compare ourselves to others, whether it’s in how we look, how successful we are, or even how much we can achieve in a day. Society often places value on superficial qualities, like appearance, rather than the traits that truly make us who we are—our kindness, our humor, our capacity for love.
What’s fascinating is that we don’t choose friends based on their appearance. Instead, we cherish them for how they make us feel, for their laughter, their warmth, their quirks. Yet when it comes to ourselves, we hold an entirely different standard. Why do we judge ourselves so harshly on the outside when what truly matters lies within?
Releasing Judgment and Embracing Self-Love
This full moon, I invite you to join me in not just reflecting on what we want to release but also in celebrating who we are. Let’s allow the moon’s light to illuminate not only the shadows we wish to clear—like judgment and comparison—but also the beautiful, unique qualities that make us who we are.
For me, I’m choosing to release the tendency to judge myself and others. I want to step into a space of love, self-acceptance, and authenticity. I want to embrace my silliness, my awkwardness, my big heart that feels deeply. Flaws and all, I choose to love myself completely.
Because awareness is the first step toward healing. When we become conscious of our habits—whether it’s judgment, comparison, or self-doubt—we open the door to change.
As this full moon marks the close of the year, take a moment to look back. Reflect on how much you’ve grown, the lessons you’ve learned, and the strength you’ve gained. Journal about the things you’re ready to release, but also take time to write down at least one thing you truly love about yourself.
Imagine stepping into 2025 free from the weight of self-judgment. How would you show up differently if you weren’t worried about what others thought of you? How much more authentic, confident, and aligned could you be?
Let’s make 2025 the year we fully embrace ourselves—the year we let go of comparison and step forward unapologetically as the beautiful souls we are.
Sending you so much love and light as you reflect, release, and dream.
With love,
Natalie
